No wonder there were calls for their own stateand along with it, their own patriotic music, literature, art and architecture…

What’s included

Our journey takes us by foot from Republic Square to Wenceslas Square, epicentre of the 1848 anti-Austrian uprising. We will take in the three most significant civic buildings of the 1880s: the National Museum, the National Theatre and the Rudolfinum concert hall (which incidentally acted as the first parliament building following independence in 1918).

The tour includes an optional paid visit (250 CZK) to the National Gallery to view the ‘Art of the Long Century’ permanent exhibition and more.
